HISTORY

The ICOHNS group practice started in March 2003 as a partnership of Drs. Gil A. Yarra, Christine del Monte-Dayanghirang, and Veronica F. Magnaye. The group was initially a collaboration for the growing number of difficult cases, particularly in the head and neck. There was also the requisite cutting-edge but expensive instrumentation distinct to the specialty. With these realizations and the difficulty of maintaining an individual practice in the competitive specialty of otolaryngology- head and neck surgery, these three pioneering otolaryngologists formalized the Integrated Clinics of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ICOHNS).

ICOHNS was formed with the concept of integrating individual resources, talents and expertise into one modern and comprehensive ear, nose, throat-head and neck center.

Like-minded members were henceforth added to its pool of specialists.

Dr. Danilo R. Legita joined the practice in January 2005. He came with special training in Maxillofacial Prosthesis. Dr. Homer M. Matias joined following his training at the Facial Aesthetic Core of ENT Surgeons (FACES) in the year 2007.

The concept of integrating a network of ENT-Head and Neck Surgery practitioners finally became a reality. The first and most comprehensive ENT facility in Mindanao opened its doors in Davao City on October 8, 2007.
